SERIAL NUMBER 288060 BARREL 32-5/8″ CALIBER 45-70 GOV’T MANUFACTURED 1885. US Springfield 45-70 Trapdoor rifle with 1878 pattern rear sight , low arch breech dated 1873, 3 position tumbler , solid butt plate with out trap. One piece walnut stock with SWP 1884 cartouche. 2 barrel bands with sling swivels and stacking swivel. Comes with 1873 socket bayonet. CONDITION. Very good as un-cleaned. Exterior metal is an even patina mixed with blue. The bore is excellent bright with sharp rifling The action operates properly. The stock has impressions and scratches but is full sized and good. The bayonet is matching condition. ANTIQUE
