Lock has bridled frizzen, marked T KETLAND / & Co forward of cock, tail is rebated & engraved. Bag grip has checkered wrist. This pistol originally part of a cased pair of duelers or target pistols. CONDITION: very good as assembled for target use, bbl. re browned, poorly fit at breech & appears to be from different gun, muzzle has been slightly tapered into rifling, PHILADELPHIA stamping on top flat is a later addition, sight insets have been filled. Cock appears replaced, sliding safety has been filed off, pewter nosecap not original to manufacture. There is an old braised repair to rear of trigger guard extension. Stock is sound w/ hand worn patina, front left silver bbl. key escutcheon is loose, glued crack repair above right front escutcheon. Mechanically crisp w/ bright shiny rifled bore.
